All that stand between me and summer is one dinky little latin final. Which, you know, is gonna be hard, but I really don't have the patience to study intensely anymore. I used that all up on math and chem.

I'm nervous for summer, but I'm also exhilarated.
Things I want to do this summer include, but are not limited to:
-salsa dance lessons
-a theater class
-pottery
-go to the beach
-excercise every day
-free shakespeare in the park
-???
comment with something interesting to do. i'll be around for a month before CTYYYY

and then driving lessons. if i ever get my fucking permit.

tomorrow afternoon i am going to rye playland with elana and arielle. i've never been there, but its an amusement park, so i'm excited!!
and then my grandparents are both coming to stamford for the summer on sat.

as far as i'm concerned? summer has begun.

I am Justice

Justice is a signal to do what needs to be done. A time comes when responsibilities must be accepted, and accounts settled. The past will continue to haunt you if you do not recognize your mistakes and make amends for them. You will need to weigh matters carefully and perhaps make important decisions about your future course.

Does this remind anyone of Michael's last year when we were watching Star Wars with Jordan and his friends...?

I really miss Mr. Pearlman, so I made him my background. So then my dad was all, is that Mr. Pearlman on your background?
Me: Yeah, he's like, my best friend.
Dad: Really? Do you keep in touch with him?
Me: ::snorting:: no.

So that was interesting. Sort of. Kind of. Maybe.

I dig my toes into the sand
The ocean looks like
A thousand diamonds strewn
Across a blue blanket
I lean against the wind
Pretend I am weightless
And in this moment
I am happy, happy

I wish you were here

Incubus is a pretty good name for a band.

Haha. Ben called me a succubus once.

Incoherency=42.

I was looking through Jeff's photos tonight, and discovered an adorable picture of Aliza, and a picture of Rosie, Aliza, and Laura (and Chris) and they all look so pretty in it! Well, I mean, they normally do, but yeah.

Behold the cuteness: )

So. I put this weird gel in my hair, and blew it out. For about an hour, it was straight, until the curls couldn't contain themselves any longer, and sprung to life. So my hair is curly again. But I thought I'd post the pictures of when my hair wasn't crazyweird. Except it was. Turns out my hair looks bad straight too. o.O

I look fucking weird in the pictures... )

[ music | Forever Young - Alphaville ]

I love how forever young really does represent CTY. I mean, I'll always think of American Pie as the most sacred song and shtuff, but if I had to associate one song in the world with CTY, it would have to be forever young.

Especially where they're like

It's so hard to get old, without a cause
I don't want to perish like a fading horse
Youth is like diamonds in the sun
And diamonds are forever

I think it's because it is hard to get old, but CTY sort of teaches us about ourselves and about life, so by the time we have to leave, we have a cause. And the part about youth being forever, because CTY is forever. When we leave we're not really nomores or nevermores; We're forevermores. I love the term forevermore. Because it's so true.

When I was a squirrel in 04.2, I remember someone explaining to me about 5 year freaks, and how even though it starts based on grade, it ends based on being 16. They told me that when you're 17 you become somewhat of an adult, and that's it, you're banished from CTY forever. It can't carry you anymore. At first this mystified 13 year old Kayla. It seemed so odd, and far away, I was just like uhh...what? And then it made me angry, because why would they do that to people? I mean 17 year olds ae still in high school. But now I really like the idea. It makes CTY like never never land, which I like a lot. (And guys, come on, if I get a comment about CTY>>Never Never Land>>Michael Jackson, I will shoot you.) The passionfruit, in some way, is based on the Chronicles of Narnia. Of course this is good, and shouldn't change and such (although maybe it is evolving. I mean, we did have 4 emperors/empresses this year), but CTY as a whole? It's somewhat parallel to Peter Pan. Because we're all Wendy, and at some point in our lives, we will live among Peter and the Lost Boys. And then we will grow, and they will stay the same, but we'll carry the memory forever, and it will have touched our lives.

8 months until CTY. I'm not afraid.

So. My small tribute to NaNoWriMo is turning out wonderfully. John (who I refuse to call JW, because I met him as John. Is your name spelled John or Jon?) Kai, and Brenda all commented to whatever post it was, and I now have an absolutely brilliant (well, more random than anything, but brilliant to a CTYer) paragraph. Behold, and comment with more more moooorree:

Jill looked into her bucket and realized that water was spilling from the bottom; She walked to the well to refill her pail, scowling and grumbling. It was going to be a long day. Earlier, the chickens had simultaneously combusted, and the henhouse was still ablaze. In addition, time had been on an extended lunch break for the past four days, and showed no signs of returning. Jill filled up the bucket agian, and began her walk back to the henhouse, so as to put out the fire there, but, seeing as there was a mysterious leak from the bottom, Jill ended up at the henhouse with mere grams left of water. Sighing and resisting the urge to burst into tears, Jill made her way back up the hill. Just when she thought her day could get no worse, she saw Jack.

This reminds me of the time in AI for losers beginners (not that beginners are losers, I'm mostly a beginner myself, but you know...that activity period was retarded) when we did the game where we each say a word and see what we get. And the only word I could think of was 'the' so it was like "The granny's cat was put in the the washer." Damn me.

This is in honor of NaNoWriMo, which I'm not doing. I don't want to be part of this particular race, however, NaNoWriMo seems like jolly good fun, and as such, I'm writing a sentence, and all of you comment with a follow up sentence. Please?

Well, it's cliched and weird, and I'm not quite sure where it came from. But thats okay!
